There is no doubt that the residents must be at the heart of everything you do.... but how do you evidence that?

We all know how to integrate 'The Resident's Voice' into things such as activities and the dinner menu, but what about taking it further?

There are ways to structure your Supervisions, Actions Plans and Feedback Forms so that you not only start to generate evidence for the Inspectors, but also demonstrate that you have systems which generate evidence. Thats a golden thread for the residents and a golden nugget for the inspectors because, if the system is good, then compliance is likely to be maintained.

The Resident's Voice

Most homes hold up minutes from residents meetings as evidence of listening to the residents, but it's so much more than that!

What if they have dementia and can't articulate? What if they simply feel that they can't ask you or even complain? Who speaks on their behalf?

It's all about the culture in your home, get that right and good evidence will flow. You need to innovative about how you do other things, and that's where I can help.
